About this role
In this role you don’t need to be crafty or come up with the ideas! Assist Faversham House residents to make various pieces of art and craft, help with room set up, cutting and pasting, chat and have some fun before helping pack up. Craft is run by BASScare Lifestyle Staff so volunteers are able to help out residents with a range of abilities. Some may need one to one support and others may need simple encouragement.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Assist residents one to one with various craft needs such as cutting or pasting
- Provide social interaction.
- Help with set up and pack down of activity.
Key Skills and Experience
- The volunteer will be friendly and outgoing with great communication skills
The volunteer will develop their skills in communication, interpersonal skills, creativity, leadership, problem solving, advocacy, team work and get to know our clients and staff.
Volunteering in this role means you are able to enrich the lives of our residents by offering them time and attention which sometimes our busy staff are unable to provide. This activity allows the resident to maintain their fine motor skills, enjoy creativity and keep their mind engaged.
