We’re seeking a number of Direct Support Workers to join our growing team. As our preferred candidate, you’ll deliver outstanding personal support to our clients that enables them to live life with independence, choice and dignity.

You’ll be an integral part of our client’s lives, empowering them by:

Providing individualised support – Direct Support Workers provide a range of support services to our clients, based on the person’s individual needs that have been identified via their Care Plans. Support services may include domestic cleaning, showering and dressing support, toileting and meal preparation.

Community Access – Direct Support Workers may be required to transport clients to and from appointments, assist with grocery shopping or attending local cafes or events.

Advocate and Monitor – Direct Support Workers will work closely with our clients and will act as a voice if needed and provide support during difficult times. It will be expected that our Direct Support workers feedback any changes in the clients physical wellbeing or care needs.

About you

  • Completion of or working to completion Certificate III+ in Aged Care OR Certificate III+ in Individual Support OR Certificate III+ in Disability
  • Not mandatory – would be a bonus: Successful completion of CHCCS303A: Provide Physical Assistance with Medication (unit as part of Certificate III in Aged Care)
  • Experience working as part of a multi-disciplinary care team, preferably within an aged care or retirement village setting.
  • Understanding of basic technology requirements – emails.
  • You’re enthusiastic and passionate about finding new and innovative ways of doing things. You have great problem solving skills, you’re comfortable working with change, and aren’t easily flustered.
  • You have excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • You’ll have a full driver’s license. A police check, first aid and CPR qualifications are requirements of this role.

Hours of work

Casual and Permanent Part time roles available. At times there will be weekend and evening work required. For the right candidate 25 hours guaranteed per week.
