The Canterbury Centre

The Canterbury Centre is the hub of BASScare activities and is appointed with many facilities which allow us to provide a host of aged care services, including a daily lunch and Meals-on-Wheels from our state-of-the-art kitchen.

To help stop the spread of Coronavirus our centres are temporarily closed. We’ll keep you posted when we re-open.

Services available from Canterbury Centre include:

Theme Lunch

On Wednesdays each month a fun Theme Lunch is held. These are special days where everyone is invited to share a glass of wine and a playful quiz and good company.

Daily Lunch

A healthy varied 3 course meal Monday to Friday, with a choice between two delicious mains. Join Us for a meal at 27 Shierlaw on Sunday. Cost $12.00. Bookings 9880 4709.

Weekly Film Afternoon

A range of films, from classic to modern to popular, to documentaries are shown on Wednesday afternoons, followed by afternoon tea. View our monthly calendar or pick one up from the Canterbury Centre.

Boroondara Blokes – Men’s Group

The Men’s group provides the opportunity for men to get together and enjoy each others company through social outings. Some of the places we have visited include Kyneton RSL, Badger Creek, Mornington Hotel and Launching Place Hotel, Yarra Valley. Let us know if you’d like to join this friendly mob.

Exercise Programs

We have a range of exercise classes to suit your needs and activity levels from novice gentle chair-based exercises, to energetic
strength and balance classes.

Exercise Physiology

BASScare offers one-to-one Exercise Physiology (EP) sessions. Our Exercise Physiologist will work with you to assess your health and exercise goals to create a tailored exercise program specific to you.

Falls Prevention

BASScare’s Falls Prevention program is an exercise and educational program aimed to reducing your risk of a fall. The program includes a pre-course assessment, 14 weekly classes and a post assessment, all conducted by a qualified Exercise Physiologist.

To discuss which physical activity option you are most suited to, or to book in for a class or consultation call our Exercise Co-ordinator & Exercise Physiologist Matthew Azzopardi.
