About this opportunity

We are looking for support for our Dementia Day Outings. You will need to assist clients on and off the bus, assist with lunch and provide social support also. Do you have great communication skills and a desire to committing to providing those living with dementia a fun and supportive day out?

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Provide clients with social support on outings
  • Assist clients on and off the bus
  • Assist with lunch
  • Encourage clients to participate as independently as possible in activities

Key Skills and Experience:

The volunteer will have exceptional communication skills and be committed to providing those living with dementia with a fun and supportive day out.

Benefits:

The volunteer will further develop their skills in communication, teamwork, problem solving, leadership, planning and interpersonal skills. The volunteer will also develop skills in elder care and caring for clients living with dementia. All volunteers are encouraged to apply.

Time Required

Friday 9.30am-3.30pm with 6-12 months commitment.

Training

Training will be provided to the successful applicant.
