Tasks and Responsibilities

The tasks and responsibilities of the Day Outings Volunteer include providing social interaction and support for clients first and foremost whilst we take them on a scenic drive to places of interest. The volunteer will assist clients on and off the bus and may be asked to assist the mini bus driver with directions. Please note this is a non-driving role.

Skills and Experience

The aim of the day outings is to provide elder residents of the Boroondara community with a chance to socialise, interact with their surroundings and have fun in a safe and welcoming environment. The role would be suitable for an outgoing and friendly person who enjoys a great day out and wants to help elders in their community with their quality of life and social interaction.

The benefits for the volunteer include developing their experience in elder care, communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, planning and organisation.
