The Marwal Centre in North Balwyn has a range of services available to the community in addition to being the “home” of the North Balwyn Senior Citizens' Club.

Transport

Transport is available to lunch and many activities at The Marwal Centre for those who live in the Boroondara area. Bookings are required for this service.

 

BASS Care Services available from the Marwal Centre

Lunch

A healthy varied 3 course meal at midday every Monday and Thursday (except Public Holidays).

Day Trips

All clients are welcome to join our Conochie Hall clients on a range of day trips, including lunch, to interesting locations around Melbourne. Click here for more information.

Hairdresser

A hairdresser is available at The Marwal Centre. Our hairdressers are qualified and able to provide a full range of services. Appointments are necessary. Call Centre Manager on 03 9819 7194

Podiatrist

Anne Tayler has been the podiatrist at the Marwal Centre for 10 years and is very experienced in the care and management of your foot health. Appointments are necessary. Call Centre Manager on 03 9819 7194

Shopping Trips

Every 2nd and 4th Wednesday afternoon to local shopping centres.

Hire of the Centre

The Marwal Centre is available to hire for activities suitable for a residential area. Contact the Centre Manager on 03 9819 7194 for details and availability.

 

North Balwyn Senior Citizens Club Activities

The Senior Citizens’ Club at the Marwal Centre provides wonderful companionship & activities. Membership is open to all senior citizens and is subject to a small annual membership fee. An active committee elected by the members arranges a variety of activities.

A range of day trips is also organised by the Senior Citizens Club and all members of the Club are welcome. Some recent trips have included a day around the bay, catching the ferry from Sorrento to Queenscliff and then back to Melbourne via Geelong; Variety on Parade at Warburton; a Day trip to Hastings; a visit to the Cheese Factory at Warragul. Bookings are required; contact the Club President for more information.

Billiards

An informal group meets at the centre on Mondays and Thursdays for a friendly game of billiards. Morning tea is available

Bowls

2nd, 4th and 5th Thursday of the month.

Trading Table

Every Monday clients are able to bring along any saleable items to trade.

Bingo

Come and join the fun with our professional Bingo Caller. Learn some new Bingo Lingo. The 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 12:45pm.
