Volunteering Opportunities
Do you have some spare time? We have a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers and are grateful for their generous assistance but we are always seeking more help.
Our Volunteers are involved in many activities including, delivering Meals on Wheels; providing companionship; accompanying clients on our organised day trips; providing transport; assisting with shopping and banking; offering friendship; participating in Arts, Crafts and Music programs.
We are in urgent need of volunteers for the following areas:
Volunteer Games Assistants – Faversham House (Canterbury)
Enjoy playing SOLO? Like spending time with senior people?
Faversham House is seeking volunteers to assist residents to play SOLO (Thursday afternoons). Come share your skill and love of games with others!

Faversham House is seeking volunteers to assist residents to play BOCCE or CARPET BOWLS on Thursday afternoons. Come share your energy and enthusiasm with others!
Volunteer Word Game Assistant – Faversham House (Canterbury)
Enjoy Word games? Want to share your word knowledge? Free Monday afternoons?
Faversham House is seeking volunteers to challenge a group of residents with a “words within words” game. A committed group enjoys extending themselves with this activity each Monday between 1 – 2.30pm. Share your word knowledge with others who love words!
Volunteer Gardening Assistant– Faversham House (Canterbury)
Want to share your love of gardening? Enjoy spending time with senior people?
Faversham House is seeking a volunteer gardening assistant to involve residents in horticulture. Duties include assisting residents with potted balcony gardens, planting seeds, propagating cuttings, watering and pruning. Preferred program time, Monday 1.00pm.
Meals on Wheels Volunteer – Conochie Hall (Canterbury) & Marwal Centre (Nth Balwyn)
Like to make a difference? Enjoy meeting people? Two hours to spare?
BASS Care is seeking volunteers to support its Meals on Wheels Services in Canterbury and Nth Balwyn. Spend a rewarding 2 hours delivering meals and supporting your older neighbours. Days flexible. Essential to use own car. Petrol subsidy available.
