Volunteering Opportunities

Do you have some spare time? We have a wonderful group of dedicated volunteers and are grateful for their generous assistance but we are always seeking more help.

Our Volunteers are involved in many activities including, delivering Meals on Wheels; providing companionship; accompanying clients on our organised day trips; providing transport; assisting with shopping and banking; offering friendship; participating in Arts, Crafts and Music programs.

We are in urgent need of volunteers for the following areas:

Marwal Centre Storytelling Project - “Everyone has a Story”

A Storytelling project is being conducted at the Marwal Centre, North Balwyn in March/April 2012. Click here to find out more!

Volunteer Dining Room Assistants - Marwal Centre

BASS Care is seeking Volunteer Dining Room Assistants to assist with serving lunch at the Marwal Centre (North Balwyn). Duties include: setting/ clearing tables; serving meals and assisting clients. Spend a rewarding 2 hours giving others the chance to socialize! Vacancies Lunchtimes Mondays or Thursdays.

Meals on Wheels Volunteer – Conochie Hall (Canterbury) & Marwal Centre (Nth Balwyn)

Like making a difference? Enjoy meeting people? Two hours to spare?

BASS Care is seeking volunteers to support its Meals on Wheels Services in Canterbury and Nth Balwyn. Spend a rewarding 2 hours delivering meals and supporting your older neighbours. Own car essential. Petrol subsidy available.

Day/time required: Monday - Friday between 11am and 1pm. Frequency: flexible.

 

Volunteer Luncheon Assistant - Maranoa House Dementia Day Centre (Canterbury)

BASS Care is seeking a Volunteer Luncheon Assistant to help at Maranoa House Dementia Day Centre (Canterbury) once a month (Mondays 11.15am – 2.45pm). Duties: setting and clearing tables; organizing prepared food; and talking to clients. This service offers invaluable support to those with dementia and their carers.

Volunteer Bus Jockey – Maranoa House Dementia Day Centre (Canterbury)

Enjoy helping others and giving them an opportunity to socialise? Want to support carers of people with Dementia?

BASS Care is seeking a Volunteer Bus Jockey to help at Maranoa House Dementia Day Centre (Canterbury) (Wednesdays 2.30pm – 4.00pm). A volunteer is needed to assist clients travelling via minibus to the Just Blokes Program. This service offers invaluable support to those with dementia and their carers.

 

Volunteer Kiosk Assistant (Relieving) – Faversham House (Canterbury)

Enjoy interacting with senior people? Are you friendly and approachable?

Faversham House is seeking a volunteer to staff its kiosk on occasional Tuesday or Thursday mornings between 10am – 11.30am. The kiosk gives residents the opportunity to conveniently purchase personal items they may require: gift cards, toiletries, chocolates etc.
