Bass Care: Embracing Community Care

About BASS Care

Our Vision is…

To be a leading community based provider of best practice residential and community services for the aged.

BASS Care

Our Mission

“We are a community based organisation servicing the aged, reinvesting in services in Boroondara and surrounds. We achieve excellence in services provision by putting the integrity and dignity of those for whom we care first and foremost.”

BASS Care

Welcome to BASS Care, a proudly independent, aged care, not for profit organisation.

BASS Care (Boroondara Aged Services Society) began in 1956 as Canterbury Citizens Welfare Committee, an incorporated community organisation committed to serving senior citizens throughout the municipality of Camberwell, Victoria. It was formed following recognition by community members that the elderly within the community who were not part of a mainstream church body were often socially isolated, required some assistance and were, in many ways, neglected.

In 2001, Canterbury Citizens Welfare Committee merged with North Balwyn Citizens Welfare Association to form Boroondara Aged Services Society.

Over the years, the range of services provided has progressively grown and BASS Care is now one of the largest providers of social support activities for the frail, aged and disabled people, their families and carers within the City of Boroondara and surrounding areas. We are committed to caring for all our clients, irrespective of their financial, religious or cultural status.

BASS Care operates an integrated program of services including residential care facilities, respite care, dementia specific services and an extensive community care program that provides care and support to older people or those with disabilities who wish to continue living in their own homes.

At BASS Care, we actively engage with older people, their families, friends and carers to determine their expectations of care and provide the best possible level of residential and community services.

BASS Care is focused on putting the integrity and dignity of those for whom we care first and foremost. We are committed to providing quality services to assist clients to maintain independence and achieve a greater quality of life.
